About Us

Boutique Pickups is the culmination of years spent working with Peter Florance on his guitar pickup designs. Peter is no longer with us, but his legacy lives on here. Each pickup we make is hand made with premium materials, hand wound using vintage patterns, and uniquely finished the way Peter demanded. Decades of vintage study dictates the designs, along with the irreplaceable ears of the master. 

I was lucky enough to know Peter, luckier still to have had the opportunity to learn from him. I have his ‘recipes’, his templates, guides, forms, tools, machines and materials. I know his processes. I know how he wanted the coil to feel. I know how he built, wound, potted, gauzed, aged and finished his pickups. I helped him work on developing new product. 

I promise. I will do my best to uphold the standards to which Peter made his stuff. All my pickups have a lifetime guarantee. For that matter, I will repair Peter’s pickups as well. Contact me with your needs!
